the throttle cables i've found here and on other sites for my '67 GTO all seem to have holes in the end for attaching them to the carb. i guess this is for a screw or some sort of pin to go through. the carb i took off had a screw with a couple of jam nuts on it. i don't think that's the way it came from the factory. i just bought a new carb and it comes with a ball to attach to the throttle lever and cable. i would like to use this instead of the cheesey looking screw that came out of my old assembly. i know my '92 mustang GT used to have a piece on the end of the cable that would snap onto the ball. does/did pontiac offer something similiar or is there an aftermarket throttle cable that is the correct length that will attach to this ball. the carb is an edelbrock thunder series AVS if that helps.

The correct '67 linkage is the cable with the holes in it, the original carb linkage has a pin on the throttle shaft lever--ball studs weren't used on Pontiacs until later. Other GM lines also used the ball studs--you have a generic carb. There may be a stock cable from some car that will work, I don't know, but my guess is that you'll have to get an aftermarket cable and bracket and make it work if you want to use the ball. A lot less messing around to make a pin...
