if it all works out, that is the plan, a 4.25 stroke(will have to add room to the side of the block) and a 4.18 bore with an eld head. the slave rods are cut off like to rod caps bolted together. the engine was balanced as a v8. i got all the interior and cage painted yesterday, now to put it all back together and start wiring. can't wait to hear it run with a real ignition system. was runing on just a stock HEI unit. the starter pad was added to the block by way of nickle rod and welding. then dril and tap acordingly. tranny right now is a power glide,if needed it will be a TH400. home mad adapterlates used as a mid plate. this same combo with out an intercooler(be it in a V8-406') went 6.00@116mph in my bird 3500# back in 1999. that's about 900hp. i think it will make about 700hp when it is all said and done, maybee more.

Screamingchief, Yes I do still have the blower intake. If you mill part of the top plate off, you could make a nice tunnel ram out of it also. And Yes I do have an intake just like your picture. It is a Wenzler that I cut off the one side and welded it closed. I was going to put a Bird catcher hat on it, and make a fuel injection. Instead I decided on the 4-71 blower, and am glad I did. Makes a ton of power. Thank's Rusty

Hmmmm,I'd be real interested in seeing some pics of what you did with the wenzler,,,if that's not asking too much.
Funny you mention the injector hat too,I had thought about a similar deal using the hilborn "4-port" style injection set-up,but again that stuff can be a bit pricey for my budget these days,so I try to think of ways to get the desired effect for less. Your pics and white warriors pics and others here like Brad's keep my 4cyl. project alive in my mind, justifies my letting it take up space in the garage and such, when it could just as well be some other piece of hardware. It sits there just waiting it's turn in the project line-up... Yep,just sitting there waiting for me to decide what the he!! I'm gonna build to put it in???

car moved on it's own power today!!! tested the converter against the brake. went to 4500 rpm, with 10#of boost. this trany and converter went 5500rpm behind a BBC on alcohol that made about 850HP in a dragster. i think about 650HP is within grasp. thanks agin for the support. will post some picts from the driveway.
