Agree Jim,

When Phil Montheith built his SS 428 (for the Hatari SS car) with d-ports and 165 intake ccs, it ran 9.70 the very first run down the track. This was in bracket trim and 3250 lbs. His car always picks up a couple tenths when he puts it on kill. He was about 500 feet above sea level. (sea level would be about 9.65)

This was a very conservative engine with a mild port job and 16 head castings. It was about 12.5 to one compression. It went around 137mph.

Phil was very confident of 9.50's on kill. If I had to guess these heads MAX flowed 250-260 cfm and had a CSA of about 2 square inches.

If Phil had 320 cfm, 15 to one, what would it run? How much HP?

We are talking real world racing examples, not computer simulations or corrected dyno sheets. Phil's dyno is on the track.

We are doing a Big Pontiac with D-port heads. Cant wait till the heads are done.
