Unless money isn't an object, it can be done with the Aluminum block and under 1000 hp.

But for long term throw anything to it live forever. I would use the Iron IA II block and live with the nose weight. There are things you can get away with to make a front heavy car hook. Just ask those SS and stock racers. And some illegal stuff too. LOL.

i agree with dude, use a iron IA2 and save the money difference to spend on some tiger heads and you will have a problem NOT making a least 950hp; if you choose your builder and components wisely.

We are going to offer a totally redesinged Aluminum IA II Block for sale around the first of the year. We sold out the first 50 aluminum blocks and converted the tooling back to cast iron. Now we are making tooling just for the aluminum blocks. We are using a foundry that makes the Donovan Aluminum block. They are if one of the best aluminum blocks out there for the Chevy motors. We will have a killer piece.

As for how the other Aluminum blocks are holding up. Ask Jeff Verdi what he will sell his for. And what he thinks.

Mine is not for sale,unless you got some really deep pockets,and want to make me happy.....wait a minute,that didn't sound right.

Seriously,I love my Aluminum block and I have won over $7k since putting it in the car.That plus the Championship,means that I will have won over $10k this season with it and the season ain't over yet.
My future plans include building another 525 with one of the new aluminum blocks coming out and putting it in the GTO with a powerglide.Install some 380cfm heads and really get some low ets.
All I need is a few sponsors$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Will the redesinged blocks be capable of handling high horsepower or will it be a street block like it's predecessor?
