I'm sure this has been posted but I haven't seen it... Was GM EOS discontinued? I went to buy some here a couple weeks ago and the parts guy said they couldn't get it anymore.
What are the alternatives and what about the cam break in lube, is it the same stuff in a more concentrated form? Thanks,

Hello,
EOS has not been discontinued. The part number has been superceded to a new number though. My boyfriend(GM tech) got me & my Dad some a couple weeks ago. He did have to go to another dealer to get it though. Apparently you can only get it by the case and his shop didn't want to order a whole case for a couple bottle sale. I'll try to remember to get the new part number from him Tuesday when he goes back to work. As an alternative, PY is now carrying a ZDDPlus additive, part #RPZ163 for $15, it's a 4oz tube.

My Dealer said it was discontinued but that may have been because he saw the PN was changed or something. Anyhow he had 2 bottles left , and I bought them for $12.00 each

Only the old GM PN was discontinued.
AC-Delco EOS can be ordered under the new PN - AC-Delco #10-106 or GM #12371532. My cost shows to be $3.80 per 16 oz. bottle from my AC-Delco warehouse distributor.

From what I've gathered on here and elsewhere on the Net, ZDDPlus seems to be the best choice for us flat tappet folks. Twice the ZDDP content in a 4 oz. bottle of ZDDPlus compared to 16 oz. EOS.
http://www.zddplus.com/index.htm I've always used EOS, but might give this stuff a try.

I was just on GMPARTSDIRECT. They claim EOS will be reissued under part#88862586 and to call for further details and availability. I wonder if it will be the original formulation? Also I was on another site where someone claimed AC DELCO#10-106 is no longer available as of this past July.

Both Crane [8oz] & Comp Cams [12oz] make a flat tappet oil additive that is added to the oil & changed with every oil change.

Just ordered some of that zddplus snake oil(thanks Paul). I'm putting in some stronger valve springs soon and I'm going to need all the help I can get. Their website shows the %of zinc to phosp. but doesn't give a ppm on the concentration. Looks like the Crane stuff is pretty good also. $8 per from Crane.

I just picked up some E.O.S. yesterday $9 here. Any who can you use E.O.S. with synthetic oil? safely without damaging the engine? I used to use 15/50 mobil 1 but that has been discontinued
. Do not know what i will use now for synthetic oil, still deciding which to use Scott

Lloyd are you a technician? Is that how you get the wholesale pricing? I did some searching and I cant seem to find a "Warehouse" that will sell to me. I did find some portals on the web but they all require logins, likely for retailers or dealership personnel.
Man at $3.80 each that is a good price. Thanks Lloyd

I have egg on my face on this one. My supplier indeed shows a price, but not only do they not have any in stock, they've NEVER stocked it at all. I also called my GM dealer parts contact, and they don't even have a record of the PN! Oh well, I'm sure glad that I stocked up on the old PN! BTW, I own an independent auto repair shop in Bellaire, TX. - Bellaire Auto Center, Inc.

I have found out that lucas oil now has a Zinc oil supplement. 9.99 for 16 oz bottle. Part number 10063. I saw it at the Lucas truck when I went to NHRA at VMP. They will sell you one bottle up to haw ever many you want. Proplem is that it is not listed in thier catalog on line. POC is Bob Benter at 866-852-9333. My order should be arriving on Monday. I will scan the labels and post them when they get here.

As promised. Opened the lid and looks like 30 wt, does not look like honey oil. Smell is different, kind of like the oil fields I used to work in.
