I'd use the 068 Melling cam with Rhoad's lifters. I put a package together for a guy with a '67 Le Mans with a .030 over 326/auto. It would break the tires loose from a punch at idle. He was tickled to death with it. I think it would work great in a 350. The 325 hp HO with a stick came with it so it's a proven combination. The Rhoads would help to compensate for the lower compression ratio of your heads.

Your heads give you a compression ratio between 8.6 and 9 to 1 depending on type of milling done to them and head gasket used.
In my experience, the 2800 is good as a tomato stick and that's about it. The Melling SPC-7 (068 replacement) advanced 4 degrees works very well in this application. You can use the 1.6 roller rockers or roller tip rockers and not worry about valve springs. |

The Summit cams are not from Comp. They like a large number of off the shelf everyone has their version of this cam is ground usually in Michigan, then the cams are put in color coded wire crates, and shipped to whoever is boxing them. A few years ago, I went with my brother who drives otr, and we picked up 28 wire crates of cams. We made our first stop in Memphis at Comp. Second stop was Lunati, then we went to Fl. to anonther cam company in Daytona Beach, said Crane on the building. It was fun to watch the stamping process and boxing by each company. About 3-4 weeks later everyone was having a sale on the 214/224 grind type cam profiles. Funny how that happened.
