Robb,
Is the pickup going to angle towards the back of the tank like a stock unit, or straight down like the picture?

Straight down.

The stock ones only angle back about an inch. And they only do that so the "sock" will sit flat on the bottom rather than get bunched up during installation.

It was fairly tough to design a 1/2" pickup with a 1/2" return AND still have a sending unit AND still get it all to fit in the stock hole in the tank. Making the pickup tube longer and bending it towards the back of the tank made it impossible to install.

Just like when using a stock sending unit, we recommend keeping the tank at least half full when drag racing.
