At the risk of sounding like a nit picker - are you going to replate those control arm bushing washers?

Also - I think the temp sensors are reversed....

But I'm drooling regardless!

Don't worry.....I'm a nit-picker from hell.

The control arm washers and nuts will be replaced. Those are the originals that I have on there just to keep the cross shaft threads protected.

The temp sensors are just temporarily screwed in there by hand after polishing them.

Damn good eye there getmygoat - I was so busy drooling in my popcorn that I missed that detail. However, I did notice that the manifold heat shrouds look like they've been painted black. Is that a reflection off those nice control arms or were they painted like that on the 70 cars - just curious. Tell us about it Jason.

I wondered about the 4 speed linkage, if that is correct, where can I get a set?...What brand of engine paint, my Dupont mix doesn't quite have that pop. I haven't checked my '69 heat shield real close but it appeared at first glance to be blackened not painted.Looking good Jason...DW

Often found on ebay (sometimes complete other times in separate pieces)...Just watch out as the Tranny rod/swivel (see my pic below) is a Pontiac A body part only..Often ppl sell the Chevy ones and include the GTO which is incorrect..The rods/linkage from steering column to frame is the same for all GM A-Body ('69-'72) and some even say for GP of that year too, but I never checked....

The rod/swivel and rods/linkage are also reproduced. Bought mine through Ames, but I think The Parts Place is where they got it from.

OVERULD - the exhaust manifold shroud on the driver's side manifold is indeed painted black. The original one was black on the inside and after doing some research it seems that 99% of 1970 Ram Air III shrouds were black from the factory. Ram Air IV shrouds seem to be mostly siver cad plated.

Dr. Doug - the shift linkage is all correct and original to the car. I am posting up a picture of the linkage that runs to the swivel on the frame to actuate the steering column lock.

The engine color is my own custom-mixed DuPont acrylic enamel. The Pontiac engine color in the spray cans just doesn't seem to have enough green in them as the original engine color did.....so I developed my own formula. I can give you the DuPont formula if you'd like it.

Here is a picture of the original gas tank. It had all of it's stampings in blue paint. There was also a stamp on the top that I have not seen reproduced yet. It says "RMCO" with a big "V" underneath it. I basically had to create my own stencil for that to use on the new tank.





Beneath the "RMCO" stamp you can barely make out the "USS" stamp that we normally see......also done in light blue. I chose to put that one on the bottom of the tank.



Also.....a picture of the key lock linkage and the clutch Z-bar linkage installed.
