What does Pete mean when he says, "Closing the lobe separation angle (paradoxically, spreading the lobes apart) increases the overlap but also closes the intake valve sooner, resulting in higher cylinder pressure?"

Closing the lobe separation angle spreads the lobes apart???

Yeah, I also would think it means tightening them up, no spreading them apart.
