I don't know those engines well enough to answer your question, but www.thedieselpage.com is the expert site on those engines. LOT of archived info there to dig through.

'Course, if you REALLY want lightweight, it's hard to beat a Duramax with those aluminum heads.

Duramaxx would tear up the driveline with its torque.
And yes Mike, I drove a Duramaxx recently and was impressed with its power.
