I think raised white letters look great on Rally IIs, but honeycombs scream for blackwalls!

After being a member of this forum for about 5 years, I thought it was about time I posted a few pictures of my '70 Formula.

These were taken at this year's POCI convention in Spearfish SD.

Didn't see many of you there, unfortunately. Attendance generally seemed pretty low (about 200 cars), at least in comparison to the last one I was at (in 2001, in Red Wing MN).

Chris, OK... just to humor you I have to post the pic below of my first Firebird (apologies to the forum that it's the wrong year). The picture was taken sometime around 1985, and as you can see it has honeycombs with blackwalls

How could I let this happen, you ask? Well, back then I was really into corner carving around the wonderful back roads of Southwest Virginia. So I put on a set of 225/60 VR15 Goodyear Eagle Gatorbacks -- the grippiest tires available in those days, and blackwall only, of course. The car was on 14s when I decided to buy the tires, so I needed some 15s fast. And wouldn't you know, the only thing I could find that weekend in the local Parts Trader was a set of honeycombs from a '76 T/A (in great shape, and for only $75 for the set if I recall).

Not to worry, though, I soon found a proper set of 15x7 Rally IIs to replace them
