I still like mine. Yes, it does ride a little high on the shoulder and rub a little close to the neck, but as stated previously, the additional safety over just a lap belt is worth it in my opinion. I think if you tried to install a guide to the seat itself, it would not be supportive enough in a crash. Then you would still have the belt across the neck but with a little more slack for your body to move forward.
The lap belt will put all of the crash force across your abdomen causing injuries to the pelvis as well as internal injuries. It also does not stop your upper body from moving forward. If in a frontal crash, I'd much rather have a bruised shoulder & neck than taking the steering wheel to the chest and the dash to the face.
I wish there was a viable 3 point system for the back seat as well.
