NOT green, but special order paint (black) is pretty COOL!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...EF:MOTORS:1123

It looks like all 600 of these HO Formula's are eventually going to surface.

I know of one. I had a wanted add in Hemmings 20 years ago for one, some guy called but I never got pictures of it. I think he still has it, but if I remember correctly, it's got a "Black Widow" kind of story to it.

Default Correct Fuel Pump 455HO

Please forgive me guys for interrupting this thread on the Black TA. I ordered a new pump to carb fuel line for my car. I got it and it isn't like my old one (except minus the kink in mine) . Which fuel pump is correct for my car, the side discharge, or the bottom discharge. I cant seem to come up with any pictures showing the difference between the standard performance, the Ram Air IV or the 455HO fuel lines from the pump to the carb. Again I apologize for the interruption, but I know you guys are more knowledgeable than I am. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks Eddie.

The "correct" pump # for ALL 1970 & 1971 Trans ams & 4bbl Formula's is a Delco 40838.
That # was superceeded by 40959.

Original (NOS) ones are difficult to find & 40838's command some serious $$$.

MOST fuel pump mfgrs. use those #s or can cross reference them to their #'s.

As previously discussed, this pump is capable of taking your HO into the LOW 12's.

If you ordered a pump/carb line for a 71 Trans am you SHOULD have the right one.

Default Grateful

Thanks a million 2 many TA's. That's the pump I have and the fuel line fits. I couldn't be sure if what I had was correct or not until I saw your pictures. '70 & '71 being the same means they sent me the wrong line? Your pictures solved everything. They've sent me the wrong line. Thanks again, Eddie

Yes, it should have been built with a wood grain dash. Although since the T/A bezel on it appears to be correct for the model year, the original buyer probably had the dealer install it. The buyer obviously wanted a few things that weren't ordinarily available (ref the paint).

Here's an old thread about a black '72 T/A. That one is in addition to the red '72 SCCA president's T/A and the Adriatic Blue '72 T/A that Steve Schappaugh owns.
