You would most likely be better off than replacing them with their' springs, that's pretty certain. It's tough to get a good rear leaf that has the correct rate and ride height, search and see.
The hot ticket is to use multi-leaf springs with mon-leaf rear perches, and omit the upper isolator, having the pin go right into the perch. That positively locates the spring and ensures no movement. Look at Landrum for leafs, or bit the bullet and go for the Global West ones. You'll be happy that you did, even if the price is hard to swallow... .
