Default Twin turbo,fuel injected 455?

Newbie on the board and semi new to pontiacs.Just want to get all my info straight before i get started on my next project.
I have a 68 Tempest Custom that i've had for about 7 years.Been sitting for the past 5.Originally a 350/2 spd car, nothing but power steering.
I have a 76 455 that i'd like to twin turbo and put fuel injection on.Its a two bolt block out of a catalina i think. Is this a good starting block.I beleive i read somewhere that i need adapters to put this engine in my tempest??Would this block(with the right parts and prep work)handle 500-700hp at low boost levels??MY major concern is with the block.
Not to concerned with any of the external fab work(it's what i do),or the fuel injection just yet, just want to make sure i have a good starting foundation.
Thanks in advance

Welcome to the board!

The 455 will bolt into the car no problem, use the engine mounts for your year of car.

Welcome....
I'm no expert on blocks but we several prominent engine builders who post here.
Perhaps they will add on to your post...I notice you live in Florida. P'dude's shop is in Florida.
He would be the closest or you can let your fingers do the walking ...LOL
Turbo's & FI seem to be the trick deal now..
I have saw a few twin turbo blow through combo's lately...
Turbo's are neat !!!

You certainly dont need twin turbos to get the 500-700hp you mentioned.
Talk to Pontiac Dude he will get you started off right.

Do some searches for posts by user 455Turbo, lots of good info. Maybe you already know, but he has built a twin turbo 455 w/ injection on a factory block. IIRC, its making ~1000 crank hp.

What you wish to do can be done but...
I would suggest you using a stronger 389 or 400 block with 3" mains. There are inexpensive cast and forged cranks available for these 389 and 400 blocks in many strokes and you would end up with a stronger block, better oiling and a stronger crank. Piston and rod choice and cost would be the same as would other engine parts. You can build the 389-400 to the same size as the 455 too with the available stroker cranks. This is the way most people 'in the know' are building performance Pontiacs now by using 3" main blocks as a foundation for their performance engine now that reasonably priced and good quality cranks are available.
Your 455 has value and I would sell it as the very late blocks are not known for their strength. The 455 would make a great street 4bbl motor for someone else.
Even with a mild blown application, why not start with a better combo of parts? This would also allow for more HP if you decide you need more and give your more reliability as well for about the same money.
