I have a question concerning accelerator pedals and kick down switches and this is a non-pontiac question. Ok- its for a 67 chevelle (but my 66 GTO is still my favorite). On the 67 chevelle we are restoring, it now has a th400 transmission and I need to add a kickdown switch, the one I have is for pedal mount and most, if not all 67 chevelles were mounted on the carburetor or so I have been told.
What years were the switch mounted on the pedal in pontiac's and if they were in 67 will a 67 pedal assembly with mounting bracket for the switch fit a 67 chevelle without any modifications? My assumption is since both are A-bodies the answer is yes. Now where do you look to find a pedal assembly with kickdown switch mounting? Any help with this issue will be greatly appreiated. Larry

Since the Chevelle is a 67 and now has a T400, a 67 Pontiac gas pedal assembly might work. The 67 pedal assembly mounts with 3 bolts on the inside and a bracket on the engine side with 2 bolts. The kick down switch mounts to the pedal with 2 screws. I would not know if the accelerator cable will attach to the pedal assembly. (chev cable) . Here is a link to an assembly on Ebay now .
