would a 71 van Nuys TA, have the "Y", style, or that Norwood only???, Is the 71 Van nuys similar to the 70 Van Nuys..

1970 Van Nuys Jacks(the square shafts) were a different shade of blue than the 1970 Norwood(trapizoid shaft) jacks were. The 1971 Jacks(the "y " shaft) were yet another shade of blue. 71 shaft was painted silver while 70 Van Nuys was silver cad and Norwood was gold cad. The '71 VN jack would be the same as the '70 VN jack. It is just the supplier that Van Nuys used. I have seen the same jack in Fremont built A-bodies. Below are pictures of the three jacks side by side, the three bases side by side, and some close ups of the mechanisms. From left to right I bring you - the '70 Norwood jack, the '71-'72 Norwood "Y" style jack, and the '70-'71 Van Nuys jack. The '70 Norwood base is stamped U70 and you can see the date code on the Norwood '70 mechanism on the rivit. These are in their original paint and rust. Hope this helps.

i have a 70 nuys setup, & my 71 TA, had something close...., no dates on VN setups, that i could see. That "shark tooth" 71 set up is just a Norwood only setup..

I haven't found a date on my VN jack either. The "Y" style jack has a date code stamped in the mechanism near the up/down lever.

Have several jacks of the style 68bird400HO refers to as the "70 Norwood jack"
-their mechanism is painted BLACK, & the square jack tubes are 34" long.

Trying to confirm this style jack as '73 Norwood build jacks.
The three in this first load of bumper jacks all date '73 Firebirds. Have one '73 as a project, & have parted quite a few more.
