Default '67 G.T.O. Tape Player Question

Help anyone! I have a A.M. radio and an 8-track. I don't think that I have the correct harness to connect them. Anyone have a diagram or a picture to post? How about a harness??? HELP! Thanks in advance.

Is it a factory 8 track?

Yes it is. One other thing, should it have a rear speaker switch?

No, the tape player itself has a front/rear fader so the dash switch isn't needed on tape-equipped cars.

If you've got the correct harness, it'll have five wires coming from the single plug that goes into the back of the tape player: yellow, yellow w/black stripe, black w/white stripe, black w/green stripe and blue. The 5 wires lead into 3 connectors.

Connector 1, with the yellow and black w/green stripe wires, connects to the car's power (also yellow) and green front speaker wire.

Connector 2, with the yellow/black stripe and blue wires, plugs into the back of the radio.

Connector 3, with only one wire, the black w/white stripe, plugs into the rear speaker wire.

You might want to get the 67 GTO assembly manual ... it's got te whole schematic of what I just gave you. Good luck!
