I know what you mean. I made a long list then shortened it to things I have to have right now. Then, I closed my eyes and pointed to three of the remaining ones. Now all I have to do is pick one of those!
If I get a full week in I can buy all three!!

Well, about the only thing I accomplished this week was getting the shifter adjusted. The adjustment on the tranny lever is as far as it will go so I may need a new cable.
It only took about 10 minutes to make the adjustment so I will add that to next weeks totals.
I will be placing an order with our host this week.
I also have to adjust the brake proportioning valve as I have too much front brake. It does make it easier to "Git a Wheel"!

I didn't get any work done on the car this week. However I did order parts from Py and bought some others from fellow PYer's.
I hope to get another weeks work in and, if I do, I will order the rest of my wiring harnesses.
Totals remain the same. I will update on the parts when I get them.
I did back the car out of the shop today, and found that all I have to do is crack the throttle and the rear tires break loose!

Still waiting on the parts. I did get a package from another PYer but until I get the rest of the parts I am dead in the water. Also, I have had work to do all week plus a side job I started yesterday.
I found that my right rear quarter window is pitted and stained so it will have to be replaced.

Well, I got my parts but have been too busy to do anything. I got a rush order for 12 pedestals and am trying to get them finished.
Work comes first right now. I am looking at some down time in about two weeks.

I got the pedastals finished at 10:00PM Thursday night!! Worked Friday, went to my in-laws Saturday and just got home about an hour ago. So, another week goes by and no work done on the car.
I did get a lead on a driver's side bucket seat and called the owner from my in-laws. I ended up driving to Carrolton, Ga. Saturday afternoon to pick it up. I paid $100.00 for the seat and he gave me an A/C compressor. I also got a coil bracket in the mail from a fellow PYer. And, I got the correct throttle cable grommet from our host.
I spent $125.00 on parts this week but all other totals remain the same.

By the time I got home from work I was too tired and hot to think about the car this week. I cooled it yesterday and thought about getting an early start this morning. So, when the wife asked,at 10am, if I was going to get up today I khew that wasnt going to happen either.
By the time I ate breakfast it was already 90 out but I was determined to do something so out to the shop I went.
I looked at the car and tried to figure out something to do that wouldn't involve a lot of physical exertion. I finally decided to install the new shifter cable. But, then I remembered that I didn't have a grommet retainer and hadn't heard anything from the metal shop about making me one. Well, I'll make my own I said to myself.
I headed out to Lowe's to get a piece of 22 gauge steel and two hole saws. Got to Lowes and they didn't have the right size hole saws so I went to Home Depot. They had the right size saws but no metal so I bought the saws and went back to Lowes for the metal. All total I spent $50.00 for the tools and piece of steel.
I got almost home when the wife called and told me she needed a short extension cord and would I please pick one up for her. Anyway, I get back to the shop about 2pm and it is now 97 with 80% humidity.
Well, I lay out my metal and start cutting the 3 1/4" hole. I immediately stop and look for something to stop the bleeding from the cut on my hand that happened when the metal spun loose of my grip.
After doctoring my hand. I get some C-clamps out and secure the metal to the wood table. I make the first cut and think to myself I could make several of these and sell them to other PYers. So, I clamp the 3 1/4" disc to the table and make the 2" inside cut with no problem.
I now have one retainer at the cost of $50.00! If I make and sell 9 more at $5.00 each I can recoup my money so I set up to cut the second disc. I notice that the second disc is not cutting as easily as the first even though I have used cutting oil, so I bear down on the drill and it still won't cut. I inspect the hole saw and find that the teeth are worn down after 1 1/2 cuts!
It's back to Home Depot to return the hole saws. They did not question me and gave me a full refund. By now it is 3:30 and I have made one retainer.
So, to sum it up I made three trips to the supply store, spent $50.00 but got $44 of that back and and took 5 hours to make a grommet retainer ring. And, I still have to remove the old cable and install the new one.
That's when my cell phone rings and my lovely wife informs me that our company will be here soon so I need to get cleaned up.
Well, at least I have a retainer ring if and when I ever get to use it.

Man, it seems like I have been going backwards for the last couple of weeks. I finally got the new shifter cable installed and adjusted. Then, I had to redo my inner fenders because some dummy forgot to cover them up before painting some pedestals and got white oil base paint all over them. I got them finished yesterday. Today, I got out to the shop early and decided to install the coil bracket.A ten minute job at most. NOT!
To start, the transmission dipstick tube was in the way so I took it out and re-drilled the mounting bracket hole to move it over 1". When I went to re-install it I slipped in the puddle of tranny fluid that had leaked out."confused:Well, I threw some oil dry on the fluid and got the tube back in. Then, I bolted the coil bracket up and started to hook the eiring up when I noticed the black wire from the distributor was broken. So. I took the cap and rotor button offand pulled the broken wireup through the base of the distributor. Of course, I couldn't get the new wire back down through the grommet so I ended up pulling the distributor. Well, after two hours of sweating like a long tailed cat in a room full of rockers I finally finished installing the coil bracket. Next. I am going to tackle the new valve covers and spark plug wires and looms. That should only take a week or so.
Well, all total, this week I worked on the car for 5 hours. And I spent $14.98 on paint. Also, I made a mistake in my math last weekand was $300 short. Here are the latest totals.

It's been so hot and the body guys been busy we have been working only one day out of the week.His thermometer showed 100 in his shop whe we finished sat at 4 pm.We just have a fan blowing on us.Just gotta be patient Phil(I'm not)

It is absolutely miserable here. We had the first rain this month today. A thunder storm dumped 3/4" of rain in about 20 minutes. Supposed to be 96 tomorrow with a THI of 105-108.
I have no desire to work on the car in that kind of heat.

Phil I know how you feel. Temps are about the same here.Spent about seven hours yesterday in the shop and planed to do the same today but I have had enough.Stayed in the A/C and watched NASCAR and a Clint Eastwood movie today. Hope next weekend is better. But I think its going to be a long hot summer. Keep it up the car looks great cant wait to see it done. Just waiting for some SEC football then cooler weather will follow.Saltman

Well, the heat has not let up one bit. I didn't do much on the car. I did put the inner fender seals on but was sweating so bad by the time I got them finished I didn't want to tackle anything else. I thought about swapping out the valve covers but was afraid I would get too much water in the oil so I will wait for cooler temps. I will update totals next week as it only took an hour to install the seals.

I know this is starting to sound like a broken record but I just can't make myself do anything to the car in this heat. I did get a chance to start on the A/C seals for the radiator but that didn't get to far. I have the one that goes on top of the core in but the others will be harder to install. I think I can get the side ones in by removing the fan shroud.
Since the old seals were practically gone I need to figure out how and where the new ones go.
I have bought a few parts from fellow PYers and swapped for some more. I am also ordering some from our host. I will add these to the total when I get them.

I talked to Norman Friday. The guy is out of money right now so the paint is on hold. In fact, he is talking about selling that car and another 64 GTO.

Well, another week of miserable weather has passed and nothing accomplished. I had good intentions of getting the valve covers replaced today but some family problems knocked that in the head. My In-laws came to visit yesterday and my brother-in-law started complaining of indigestion. Well, they went back home(about 100 miles) last night and his wife ended up taking him to the hospital.
They ran a EKG on him and the results showed that he was having a heart attack. So, they rushed him back to install a stint but the doctor could find no blockage! They ran more tests and all came back negative for heart problems. They discharged him this afternoon.
We got the call about 3am and my wife felt like she needed to be there with her mother so she left out about 6.
I have done nothing but lay around all day sleeping.
I did order $208.02 worth of parts last week. They included a correct dash pad, miscellaneous engine compartment pieces and a Fisher service manual.
I don't think I have much work this week so, hopefully, I can get something done.

Well, I spent 8 hours this week stripping the hood and some of the seat trim. I also hung the front fenders on the car so I could see what it looks like. Just bolting them on gave me a boost in morale. And, I replaced the valve covers! I took the hood to my body man when I went to exchange my friend's tailgate. I also bought some paint and supplies. Spent $24.76. Here are this weeks totals:
