Question

1. Who is "Gillette?"

2. Whose name is the title in TODAY? Is it a Washington title?

3. You state that the car was purchased from a "man named Jim." Jim WHO?

4. Who is Jim Pittman?

5. What is Redmond Auto Rebuild and what do you mean "the car was not paid off?" Who owed payment and who was due payment? Payment for what?

6. What type of lien exists on this car?

7. JDH421: If this isn't your car, what interest do you have in acting as an agent of the seller?

8. Who is the current owner?

Gillette is registered owner, as of today legal is Redmond Auto, Wa. state title. James Gillette was the man they purchased the car from with a bill of sale. Jim Pittman was the owner of Redmond Auto Rebuild. Pittman had a body shop and a dealer license to sell used cars. Pittman sold the car on payments, example 300 down and pays of 250 a month till it is paid for, it is called inhouse financing. The lein is on the title, same as a bank, go buy a new car, bank is legal on the car until it is paid for. Don't pay bank, bank calls repo man to pop the car only in this case it took 32 years. When you pay off your car bank sends a title with a signature on it to release their interest. No pay, no title. Read my posts it explains it. Pittman never got paid so he did not give up the title to Gillette. Pittman gave the title to Repo Pete when he retired and Pete still has the tile from 1977!

1. Is his name also on the title?

2. How much is the lien?

3. How could Gillette's name be on the title if Pittman didn't sign it over? Can't be.

Richard and jdh421 are telling two different stories here. Whose is true? Sargent says Redmond Auto's name is on the title. Jdh421 says otherwise. He says Gillette's name is on the title. jdh421: since you're the seller, please post a scanned .pdf of the title.

jdh421: you didn't answer my question #7.

Look at my previous post! Registered is Gillette, legal is Redmond Auto Rebuild, Pittman owned Redmond Auto Rebuild. When you buy a new car and the bank finances the car John Doe is registered, Bank Of America is legal. Registered is liable for the vehicle, legal is on the title to protect their interest of the vehicle. Money was owed on the wagon so Redmond Auto Body was legal to protect his interest in the vehicle until it was paid off just like a bank. Balance on the car would be a really high number since inhouse finance carries a high interest rate times 32 years of unpaid balance and interest and late fees etc. I would guess over 10k easily, that why Repo Pete offered a reasonable amount of 2,500 for the title. Current owner had no business buying a car without checking the registered and legal owner it's just a simple phone call. Look at post number 13 there is a picture of current info pulled from Olympia WA.

1. But you don't know exactly how much is owed, do you?

2. If Repo Pete has legal claim to the car, he has no need to offer $2500 for the car, since he has assumed the assets of Redmond Auto. Why, then, did he make such an offer? And to whom did he make the offer?
