To each his own. A red roof on a two-tone blue/silver car is not a "complementing" color...unless you're a dog.

Having seen the car in question in person, I have to agree with Brian. That color combo is not very attractive. Regular factory 2-tones are fine, but blue and silver with a red roof does not please the eye.

Wow, nice looking car. Another picture of this Pontiac digger surfaces. Pretty sure it is Eddie Hills car. The 62 GP in back ground looks like his too.

I was at an indoor car show all weekend (see http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...=594667&page=2 for photos) and Mr Wangers and I were working the same display.
During a break in the action I asked him specifically about the red roof/grey roof differences. He said that the car started out with the body colored roof because, at that time, it was intended to be more of a "stock" racer. When GM banned any activity in racing that essentially caused the creation of the "FX" classes. That allowed Jim to deviate more from stock and do something more eye-catching with the paint scheme, so the roof was painted red at a later date. K

Weidner Pontiac is out of Mansfield, Ohio and was always heavily involved in drag racing. Ironically, the first Pontiac car show I attended was their show. Cool pix, btw! Thanks. Ron
