No physical differences in the castings for all of the SD heads, no matter the date code. I take it these are a pair you picked up along the way, not with an original SD car? (I remember you were selling SD engine/parts awhile back) It's kind of hard to tell from the pics you've posted, but if you look at the exhaust ports, you can see definite porting/grinding marks on the outer portion, deeper inside you can see the original as-cast surface which is a bit "pebbly" appearing. I wouldn't worry about there being much difference porting wise between this pair

The guy I bought these heads from said he got a complete SD motor out the back door of a dealership back in 1974. The engine had spun a bearing or threw a rod so the guy just took everything off and scraped the block. According to him they were on the same engine as delivered from the factory. I have had some SD parts and a couple of engines, but I need some space so something has got to go. I have pretty much decided to restore my 73 back to stock appearing, the 4X's (7H's) I have should flow almost as good as these and I have way less into them.
