Can't get to the inside of the right tube without jacking it up, maybe this week I can get to it but here's some casting numbers I was able to see. Do these tell anything?

Those numbers are on my 69 rear, ..if ya look its the numbers 1 thru 9 and 0 probably an internal thing with the foundry that cast the center section

on the front side on the bottom web is another set it is the actual cast number and is shared with 67-69 67 is mono leafs 68-69 are multi its an easy way to tell..heres pics

that code on the front side tells ya date, gear, and which posi if originally equipped

Another pic of the numbers and letters on the front of the passengers side. looks to be a Dana, don't know how to Decode the other numbers and letters. Not sure what the circle with the line through it indicates.

Thanks Ron!

And Jim yes you get a ride in it when it's done You have no idea how happy this find has made me it's exactly what I needed to get out of the winter blues rut I've been in for months. Thanks again! Pontiac people helping Pontiac people is what this hobby is all about.

nah not ready for a trip to Carlisle yet, but am planning on GM on display at the end of the month.
