*edit* probably a girl, since they want no calls, email only. The shop probably saw her coming... This is a small town just north of where I live, only one or two auto repair places there.

The 1.8T is an interference motor. At minimum you're looking at several bent valves, at worst damaged pistons and head. Changing the timing belt alone is $700-900.

thats a far stretch from 4k even 7-9 is a stretch for routine maintenance
