If you can get access to a vacuum gauge then get a vacuum reading. Also is the vacuum advance hooked to full port vacuum (in other words to where it's pulling vacuum all the time) or is it hooked to a vacuum port to where it's pulling vacuum only when the throttle blades are opened? This can aid in helping to help you tune and hopefully help you locate the miss.
