I have not modified one myself but I do have one that was modified for a Dual Gate.

A duel gate is not a direct bolt in but not hard to do either. It needs the rear resessed part of the console cut out. Then you can fit the shifter in there and see how much to cut the front part out across the ribs. I just used the handle that holds a hack saw blade and went slow it cuts pretty easy. Then you can mount your console back in the car with the shifter loose to see where the shifter will bolt to the floor. I did mine that way cause I like the look.
