Thanks for all the help and advice. I have checked out a lot of options. I even called Edelbrock. They recommended the Lokar bracket and cable for the easiest installation. My biggest question with that system is where the cable passes through the firewall. Can you use the mounting plate off of an old stock cable and use it to pass the aftermarket cable through it, or will I have to fabricate something?

I have seen the bracket that is on your car somewhere; I will try and track that down. Does the system use the stock cable?

Thanks for the pictures and advice. I will look into the option of modifying the perch to make a stock cable work.

I think the 65 cable would work if I could figure out some way to modify the original bracket. But, it might be more work than it is worth.

To keep from wasting money and to prevent a big headache I might use the Lokar or try and find the bracket on Koppster's car. It looks like it is using a stock cable.
