Sure sounds like a bad ground on the gauge cluster.

oops sorry 65 GTO

only thing I have yet to do is remove the drivers side ac vent and duct and look behind it. Its pretty tight over there with the ignition and headlight wiring along with the ac duct.

This might be a good reason to order a new m&h dash harness with the hei conversion built into it...
