I didn't realize they wern't cheap, sorry. I trully can not stand the look overall, but that's just my opinion. I have the original style clamps on my 67 LeMans and had them on my 68 Firebird and they NEVER leaked. I am just too much of a purist I guess and just love the look of a bone stock engine compartment. Even when I install my 461 stroker in the LeMans, knowone will ever know it's not the 326 that is in there now. I will dress the 461 to look EXACTLY like the 326!

I was going for that when I put the 462 in my '66. I wanted it to look like a stock 389, but outperform it by a large margin. Unless you're using the "correct" 326 heads (bad idea on a 461), get ready for "you do realize that those heads are incorrect" at every show/cruise night you attend.

I don't even bother explaining why the ported 6Xs I had before the KREs were superior, in every way, to the "correct" '66 093s, (especially on a 462) anymore.

MY pet peeve are all the "judges" (who invariably drove to the car show/cruise night in a minivan or equivalent) that pick apart a car that I spent 8.5 years "restifying". A ton of thought/research went into every piece of it. There is a functional reason (performance, safety or strength) for every non stock part or mod on my car, and I hate when folks minimize the effort because it isn't stock, even if it's FAR better than stock in every way.

Actually, I will be using my 62 heads that have been completely redone, port & polished, bronze buides, SS valves etc. So the 62's will be a give away, I will also be using H.O. 2.5" manifolds from R.A.R.E. along with a 2.5" mandrel bent exhaust system. But I will keep the 326 air cleaner, painted valve covers etc.

Speaking of PT Cruisers, IMO they are a pet peeve in their own right. Why is it that just because they have a retro look, people bring them to classic cars cruises/shows. Actually, this was more popular up north when we lived in Buffalo area more so than down here. Everytime we would go to a car show/cruise night, there were an entire group of those cars. Used to drive me nuts. LOL

Oh boy....where to start

T-Tops or sunroof on '70-'73 Firebirds. I came across 3 real T/A's in the last year while searching for a car to restore.

Formula hoods cut out for a Shaker. (usually put on a T/A)
Formulas with T/A wheel flairs.

A car turned into a 4X4 and I don't mean just sitting high, a truck or SUV chassis under...seen many of those in Minnesota years ago.

Narrow whitewall tires on Rally II rims.

I could go on and on!
