The May 16 1968 GM Blueprint Sales promo states Forged Pistons. I have a set with a dealer Promo album. It also states Ram Air parts were shipped in the trunks of the cars.

Default RAM AIR II PISTONS

The '68 Ram Air II came with FORGED TRW (#L2262) flat-top pistons with 4 valve reliefs. Factory originals had the part number (9794056) stamped on top. This is the same piston used in the RA IV. Ram Air I engines originally came with CAST pistons (#478810) but were superceded in the parts book around 1974 to use the RA II/IV forged piston.

I knew the piston number was 9794056, never saw where it was forged.

Should have looked at the RA IV piston number I guess.

Here's the P&A on the RA II.
(possibly related to the sales memo?)
