Looks like a 2dr sedan. Pretty rare car, even when new. Almost extinct today.

There is no telling how many similar photos are lying around in family Christmas photo albums around the country. I can still remember my first Hot Wheels track, the cars and how much fun we had with those things growing up. My first car was a green Lotus open-wheel Indy/Grand Prix racer.

I was ten in '68 and had a Hot Wheels set too. We used to set up the ramp on my neighbors front porch and race them. My first car was a '67 Cougar with redline tires. Hadn't thought of that in years.

I got the same red roadster for Christmas I think in 1967 and I still have it.

Cool pic, John! I have a whole bunch of ones similar to this where a celebrity or sports figure were being given the keys to a new Pontiac.

Here's a new one posted to the yearbook site. I cropped it to remove the dealer name, but it was Oakley Pontiac-Buick.



A new 1969 Firebird, but if you look closely, we can make out a few details:

- No hood scoops, but there's a short die cast emblem on the hood, so it's a Firebird 350.
- Looks like it has a vinyl top.
- Appears to have wheelwell trim and Deluxe Wheel Covers, probably was ordered with the Decor Group.
- Looks like the wider F70x14 white line Wide Ovals, which was an option on the Firebird 350 model.
