What is the largest size 60 or 70 series tire I can run on the 14 x 6 Rally II wheel?

I've run the 225/70/14 tires on these wheels for over 20 years. No issues at all. I'm sure there are folks running 50 or 60 series rubber on them, though.

I run 225/70/14 on 14x5 steel wheels, so I suspect you can go even wider on a 6" wheel. Your limitations will be fenderwell clearance on tight turns.

I was hoping to run 215or 225/60/14 on the 14x6 Rally II wheels. Will I have any issues with this combination?

Only that they are way too short. 225/70/14's will look a lot better.

So you're saying that it would look like a ghettomobile?

The 225/70/14's are the right height (diameter) and won't make your car look stupid and buzz along at high rpms on the freeway with the speedometer going whacko. They are wide enough to look muscular, and promote good handling without totally destroying that fine boulevard ride. Of course, you could go MegaGhetto and put on some 22's or 24's......depends on your taste, maturity level, and station in life!!!

For now I'm running 225/70-14 Firestones's up front and they look great as Geeteeohguy says. Smaller might not look so good as B-man has said about 225/60-14s.... they're a smaller diameter than the 70 series tires.
225/70-14s won't rub on the front fenders, not even the dog-leg at the bottom rear of the front fenders. Mine don't.

I've got a 66 Lemans, 326, now on stock wheels, (P205/75-14) I have Cragar's 14x7 I want to use.
What size tires should I get ? Without any issues ? I'm very confused Thanks |
