Default gto compression

I just got back to GTO's later in my life. Drove a 64 in 64 - bought 65 upon return from NAM first time. Later converted to Vettes which I built & raced. Anyway my oldest has me back to Pontiac's - haven't forgotten Vettes - have 03 Z06 - but just picked up 64 GTO from St. Louis without engine. Picked up 64 389 and am asking same questions.

Plan on going .30 over, not decking block but maybe .001 clean cut, maybe .001 clean cut on heads. Std 64 heads are supposedly 68cc according to Pontiac Power.com.

Usually larger than propaganda as rule. Composite gasket decreases compression. As I remember it is easy to lose compression but harder to gain.
