Hey Everyone,
I have heard that it is probably best to block the heat riser hole going from the cylinder head up through the intake manifold. This should minimize the amount of heat on the intake manifold and stop the paint from burning off. Do you guys think this is the way to go? If yes, what is the best way to do this?? I have a few ideas but I thought I would ask first. Thanks

Lots of reading and opinions on this in the Street section. Goods and bad.
Is it a daily driver or should I say driven in hot and cold or cooler weather? Drag car? To do it right heads have to be filled, or can get block off in gaskets. But usually burn through.

This is a car that will rarely be driven. So I am more concerned about keeping the painted intake looking good. Thanks

Years ago I made blockoffs out of stainless steel flashing and inserted them between the head and the intake gasket. I made them slightly larger than the gasket opening and used a little permatex around the edges on both sides for additional sealing. Ran it like that for several years and never had a leak and it didn't burn through.
