Default A-body site dead?

Yesterday, I tried to open the old web page and my browser came back saying that the page was not available. I tried again just now and got his message:

"Can't open file: 'a_log_online.MYI' (errno: 145)"

I have no clue what this means, but it doesn't look good.

Murray was in the process of saving everything and moving it to a new host.

Well, Boardnation absolutely sucks. Hope the new board is a lot easier to use and reliable, whenever we may see it again.

Did spammers hack the site? I got a couple of spam emails that were using a fellow board member's name.

I'm not moving the site, Peter is. I went to the Boardnation home page this morning and none of the links there worked also. I'm guessing that the company must be having problems like last year.

I don't know about spammers. I didn't get any spam from there but could have been filter out by my Yahoo email. I haven't heard from Peter for a couple of days so I figure that he's busy with it all.

I've been emailing the owner of boardnation back and forth all week. He's.... taking a lot of shots in the dark about what is wrong. Adding ram to the servers was a waste time, rebuilding the databases makes more sense but takes time. I think the cache control on java script is corrupted along with the databases.... anyway he says once it's back up he's going to ask for donations to cover all the work. Maybe Peter could use that new home page splash screen I developed a few months back on a new site?....

Boardnations Owner (Kevin) is claiming that Spam Boards were part of the reason the servers were slow. Something about placing a heavy load on the system. I've been following Boardnations own Forum, and it seems there are a few other site owners fed up with the issues.

On a different note, I was able to navigate through A-Body this morning without much lag time. Hopefully that's a sign that things are getting back to normal over there. I posted last night without much difficulty, and this morning it only took about 30 seconds for the pages to load. Still not great, but better than it was before.

It does appear that abodysite is up to speed this morning. That's nice to see. I hope it lasts for a while.
