I've been off the board the last several months- my car (69 Lemans vert) has been in the resto shop for bodywork and paint. The guys are almost at the end of the job now and are re-assembling all the painted/finished panels.

I just got a call from them saying that the the cornering lamps on the new fenders are hitting the radiator support and that the support needs to be notched for them. The car did not come with cornering lights- was a different radiator support used? Is notching it a good solution? Does anyone out there have pics?

My 69 GTO came with factory cornering lights so the core support was already notched for them. I have attached 5 pics. The first two are my black car during restoration with original core support notched for cornering lights. The second two are two other cars I have where you can see the core support is not notched at all. The 5th pic shows done car and the shot angle is comparable to the green LeMans so you can tell how high the notch needs to be. Since your car never came with the cornering lights, then I would presume you will need to notch the core support. This is on a flat sheet metal area that does not have anything to do with support, so you will be fine. Do you also have the correct forward lamp harness for the cornering lights?

Thanks John, I passed your pics on and the shop notched the core support. And yes the new harnesses are set up for the cornering lights and I also have the correct column switch and wiring.

The shop is telling me that I will finally have it back in my garage by this Friday. Hope the finish looks as good with the car all put together as it does in pieces!

Here are a couple of pics when I cut my fenders and core support. There are actually indentations on the core support to let you know where to cut it at. Scott
