Was going over the Barrett Jackson List for Scottsdale this year and saw a 69 Trans AM on the list. They are claiming its 1 of 14 from the VN plant.
Just looking at the pictures gives me doubts anyone have any thoughts? Plus I have never seen a Trans Am with a Parchment interior has anyone else? http://www.barrett-jackson.com/appli...01%2f24%2f2010 Lot number is 1038.1 Last edited by relax428; 12-20-2009 at 04:45 PM. Reason: added lot # |

Actually there were around 20- 69 ta's that came with the parchment interior and 2 of them were built at the Van Nuys plant ,one being a 4 speed and 1 a auto. Stripes over the spoiler and fender emblems are very common resto mistakes . Why are we so quick to criticize and doubt without knowing what we're talking about?

I would agree I was quick to criticize. But considering this was 1 of 14 from the VN plants I would have thought the people restoring it would have done their homework. Stripes over the spoiler I can understand. But the Fender Emblems really are a mistake no one should be making.

Installing the fender emblems and painting stripes over the spoiler is a common mistake thats made usally due to people looking at the adverisement pics from that era and also because of lack of research . This still could be a great car and I like looking at it that way giving people the benefit of the doubt . But I could be wrong , its hard to say with the limited info and pics from the ad . |

Personally, I wasn't criticizing the practice.... Just the debate I knew it would start. I'm sure this one will go over the block without even being noticed by the SPEED "experts" . Later they will do a full on conversation on a validity of a Yenko "Re-Creation Car".

Would be good to see the Dealer Invoice on this one. I recalled there were a few TA's built with Parchment trim, but thought they were Deluxe version rather than std. style.

Both gold interior cars are listed as 02 code and that is gold std . but the only way to be sure would be take the vin . and run a phs . One of the cars is a Canadian car and there both raiii 4 speeds .

Is that like Jimmy from Seinfeld? He refers to himself in the 3rd person? "Yeah, Jimmy's got a couple of 69 T/A's with parchment interiors".

Best part is I did not have to pay for the PHS. It just took a year of hounding the previous owner to get it. Greg has passed on some of his good luck to me.

With the date of 09A, did that one get a formula wheel?
