I think its a 66 in the video.

I laughed the first time i heard that song and the line about the GTO.
But then i kinda wonder if the term 'shackled up' is just being used as a generic term for a car that has the rearend in the air whether by shackles or air shocks or whatever.

I think that's pretty charitable. Pretty sure it was your basic "songwriter trying to evoke an emotion," slapping together what sounded like car talk to them.

Remember the online entry to win that car? I tried to remember everyday to register for a chance. I think Pierced Mikey posted it here. On the day it was given away I went to a junkyard and I was in the middle of 40 acres when I realized it (the phone) was not with me. When I got back in the truck there was an odd long distance number on the caller ID but nobody would answer a call back. That night I realized that was the day they gave away that GTO. Rules said you had to answer when they called. I'll always wonder....
