I read all nine pages of this thread, and only once did someone mention the Flowkooler WP.
Why not just go with the Flowkooler and be done with it ? Any problems there ? Thanks |

Call me crazy and cynical, but I didn't believe they would do anything about the problem. Still don't. I'll believe it when I see it.

It's cooler outside now, which helps, but I'm determined to improve my '66 temps before next summer. If Cardone comes through, I'll put in their "correct" impeller 8-bolt and use my old divider plates (unless someone makes correct contoured new plates by then).
If they don't, what do people recommend fits better with the Flowkooler pump...old plates, new SS plates? If the latter, who has replacement plates that work with it, do they require hammering, how well will the contour mate to the Flowkooer impeller, etc? If the old plates, will they require tweaking on contour for the Flowkooler? Or, does anyone recommend another option? |

the adjustment is easy i had to actually tweek it outword a little! never tried to adj. with the original plates. if the F/K pump works as good for you as good as it has for me who cares about cardones correct impeller which in any case you will still have to adjust the internal housing plate, reason being each impeller will set different on the shaft!!! mike |

mike389, you are certainly making the case for FlowKooler...I assume you are close to the company; if so, do they offer a w/p for the '63 and back 4-hole Pontiac apps?

Cardone hasn't dropped the ball. There's something going on that I can't pass on yet. And no I'm not covering up for them. Charles can confirm that.
Tho it does look like Ames Enterprises isn't going to help us with the correct rear 8 bolt divider plate for this new correct impeller. I'm still working on that to get them to give us an answer.

No problem. Remember, we haven't given up yet. I'm gonna push all I can until the 'mistake' is corrected, or they tell me to get lost.

Sent it back to Summit, we'll see.

Just got through reading this, very interesting, and a couple of related questons:
1. Can someone tell me what pump fits '59 with a 389, and whether or not it relates to the issues of this thread? 2. We just rebuilt / restored the intake manifold and while the car was good driving this summer it has an occassional "burp" in which coolant comes out the overflow tube - the first couple of times it was just a quart so maybe we were overfilled however, this last time it was at least 5 quarts. Looking for help, please! Thermostat is good, cap was replaced with proper spec and some have suggested an overflow tank but I don't see that as a solution to the problem. |
