The engine is a 1961 Bonnivlle 389 with tri-power. I am keeping the 61 heads and intake. It is flatter than the newer style and will make the fit under the hood easier. .040 over on the pistons, 10.25 to 1 compression. A good port and polish on the head with the hardened valves and guides. Polished and ballanced crankshaft and connecting rods. Oh yea, 400 connecting rods. Cambshaft is from Jegs, total duration 282/292 at .050 it is 224/234. 1.5 rockers give a lift of 465/488. Cam timing at .050 is intake 3 BTDC exhaust 56BBDC for open; close is intake 41ABDC exhaust 2ATDC.

The Fram filter is what the builder stuck on the engine. Yes it will get changed to a full size filter.

Very impressive motor!! My engine builder swears by the fram filter,says nothing else filters better and he claims he has tested them in his shop to back up his claim.

Wow, that's a lot of rods. I've always gotten away with just eight rods in a V8.

Finaly got back to work on my 62, The trans tunnel is almost done.
I took a bunch of pis I'll get them up soon. Progress is on again.

"WOW" Sorry bout the spelling LOL last night.
Took a bunch of pics haven't been getting out of work till 8:00
At night all week and then going out to the garage and staying.
out there till 2:00 every night makes for a long day, I'm getting,
a lot done though. Started make the trans cross member still
gota make the brackets to bolt it to the frame. I'll try to get
pictures up tomorrow.

Default Finally !!!!!!!!!!!!!
We got the car into the body shop on Saturday. Now the back of my truck is full of car interior. The back seat stinks, there was a mouse house in it. Oh well, the plan was a complete restoration so it will get new foam, and vinyl covers. I will not know how the springs are until I get all of the covering and padding off. Time for some good rubber gloves.
This is the dissassembly part where you find out how much real work you have.
