Are the 1981 aluminum case 4 speed trannys Muncie or Borg Warners and are they the same as a Z28 except for bellhousing?

depending what motor they were behind, you can find some crazy ratios. i have 2 that are 3.42 first gear, 1 an alum case and 1 a steel case, both from 305 chevy 81 TA's.

i had one from an 80 z28, it had 4 rings on the input shaft. no idea what gears it had, but 1st was crazy low with a 3.73 gear in the rear. you could start out in third with little trouble. that tranny didn't last but 1 summer. sure miss that thing, it sure was fun!
