Definitely a factory option, although I'm sure the dealer could have (and probably did in some cases) put them on, too. Attached is a copy of a PHS invoice for a '70 that was built with trim rings.

My Canadian car doesn't show them on the PHS documentation, but it had them on it when I purchased the car. As far as I know the dealer installed them, so I'll restore it that way.

Yep - I remember seeing them advertised in Hemmings 20+ years ago for $600/set. That was before I had owned a '70 T/A, and couldn't figure out what made any 15x7 Rally II that "special"...

I haven't see many on Ebay of late. I paid $375 for a single a few years back -- bidding against a fellow forumer. The most I'd seen a single go for. I bought and sold a few others I now wish I'd kept, since I kind of fell into the car I need them for. I'm still waiting for another MP stamped one to show up -- just to prove they exist.

On a similar note, I had bought a set of 15's intending to put modern radials on for driving, to save the bias plys for shows (I probably won't now that I know the 14's are incorrect). Anyway, I see differing data on what size radial corresponds to the original F60-15's. Anybody got any input (he asks knowing it could start a firestorm)?

no, i used to run them back in the 80's on t/a's. if you want a really meaty look, but real low profile, a 265 / 50 / 15 works good. i think about the biggest tire you can put is a 255 / 60 / 15 they really fill up the wheel well .
