440cfm @ .750 is moving some air. Wish my heads did that.

Milepost, that's the exact engine in my stock looking 69 firebird street car. 535, ported tiger heads, and custom intake manifold low enough to close the super 400 hood. yes, it has .800 lift with 264-270 duration on the comp cam. 11.1 comp. I just took it for its first ride, and untuned, it feels as fast as my procharged 80 formula. The 80 formula puts down over 600 HP and torque to the ground, so I'm using it as a gauge. Will hit the chassis dyno in a month or two to tune it.

Thanks to Dave Wilcox for the beautiful port work and CVMS for assembly.

65 NSS, thanks for the time and effort you guys put into these projects. We ( Pontiac people)now have no excuse not to kick Bowtie Butt, at least on the street classes and lower level racing. Now the rest of us have to get off the computer and start stroking checks to all you guys and buy the real good stuff and keep you in business.

Correction...my .750 lift CFM is only approx. 392 not 412.....My memory sux..Sorry ...found flow sheet. My heads are also a set of "early" heads. They were flowed in '07....Not sure what a set of newer Tiger's flow...
Don't want to mislead anyone...
Keep up the good work...

When I compared our numbers to what was provided, ours were a bit lower (2%).

Troy,

Hope all is well, glad to know the year turned out well for you, see you at Norwak and lets hope we can line up our barges and have some fun!

IMO There is a lot going for the Tiger heads over the Edelbrock Pro-ports. They are a proven power maker. They are AVAILABLE right now! The head is rolled over to 12 degrees which keeps them legal for sanctioned racing classes that require no more than a 2 degree change in valve angle. The 11 degree Proport won't fit within those rules. There are 460 + CFM programs already developed for the Tigers and Allpontiac has a great intake manifold developed for them. No way the old Victor manifold will be able to match the the capabilities of a 460 CFM head. Sheetmetal manifolds.... $$$$$..... aren't legal in many classes and if they are you get hit with a weight penalty if you do run one. I can't see how the 11 degree Proport head with its shorter valves can come close to outflowing the Tigers. The 12.6 degree head won't even come close.... It may sound like I'm slamming the E heads, but I'm not. I'm sure the casting quality will be great and I really like how Edelbrock have addressed the cooling and oil drain back issues. I just can't see how they can compete with the likes of the Kauffman High ports or the Tiger heads at a competitive price. Many thanks to Calvin and his crew at Mondello Performance for giving us a what may be the ultimate hardcore Pontiac "Classic style" street head.

Awesome build Steve! I'm curious how you addressed the manifold height/ hood clearance issues. BTW How do you like the super 400 hood? Any chance we can get you to post some pics of your beast?
