Don't use the Comp brand Solids because they are Chevy pieces and everything is in the wrong spot, their too short thus your pushrods will be too short. Believe they also require restrictors. Go with the Crowers as they are the same in size as the hydraulic 1's with the oiling ring in the right spot and do not require restrictors. Went thru that bs last summer

As stated,only the Crower solid lifters come with the OE hydraulic lifter pushrod cup location,so they typically wont need a different length pushrod as SOP,but it's always wise to check that as has been mentioned the cam's base circle can play into that dynamic as well.

As a flat tappet cam's lobe lift grows larger,the cam's base circle correspondingly grows smaller.

The Comp solid lifters (et-al) all use a .130" lower pushrod cup location,so they all for sure need longer pushrods as SOP.

And yeah,the Crower solid lifter also have internal oil metering provisions while the others dont.

Also,the Crower solid lifters also have the correct oil band location too,while some of the others may (or may not) have the correct oil band location.

And for a little extra coin,I'd suggest getting the Crower solid lifters w/the coolface option to supply some extra oil to the lobes to ensure long lobe life.
