thanks they are actually pristine Corvair seats that i picked up for 200.00, much cheaper than ratty "GTO" seats and the same bases and i also think the 65' pattern was the best interior. This was a budget build...if there is such a thing, I used what i had and what i could trade for or find cheap. And the 326 is in mothballs in the shop in lieu of a forged, roller cammed 463 soon to get new low profile dual quads.

Very nice looking Tempest Custom Instg8ter.
![]() Would you happen to have any photos of the Ram Air setup where it's attached at the front of the car? Looks great from the core support back.

Thanks GT182, they are run to pick up from under the inner fenders right now, i was planning on taking the high beams out and forming some screen from a 67' grill into a domed cover for the holes to mimic headlights, have seen some old drag cars that were set up this way. As soon as i get the stroker back i will be setting up the dual quads so the Ram Air will be used on the next project....thinking 69' firebird coming soon. They do supply mounting cups that would mount on the firewall but tried to avoid cutting holes in anything.

you the man Arbys, been looking all over for that stuff...i wish they made an elongated air cleaner for the duals i really like the Ram Air set-up. I will take some pics when i get the motor back in and do the headlight swap, at that time i will put low/high beam halogen single light system in. Whole theme of the build was not so much original as to embody the spirit Pontiac innovations on a limited budget. Used B&M quicksilver shifter modified to fit the console instead of the outrageously expensive His/hers. Molded a 3 gauge pod into the dash pad before i re-stretched it. Did all the work including paint myself over a Michigan winter....photobucket has pics of the whole resto. If you wanted to drill two 3" holes in teh rad support right next to the flange the cups would fit right behind the grill and ducts would be nice and neat.
Might try to make the POCI event OldBlue, I Worked in St. Charles for a minute....still miss me them Italian Beefs, Portillo's, and St. Pauli Girl beer here is the system from Spectre with the solid stainless ducts... http://search.aol.com/aol/imageDetai...old+air+intake http://s1098.photobucket.com/albums/...966%20Tempest/ Last edited by instg8ter; 05-04-2012 at 07:08 PM. |
