Earth to limejudge69...

Hornish is currently #4 in the points in the Nationwide Series with 265 points, a top 5 and 3 top 10 finishes. Sam's average finish this year is 11.6.

Danica is in 11th place with 187 points - only 7 points ahead of Trevor Bayne who has missed 3 of the 8 races. Danica has only 1 top 10 finish (8th) - and that was only because 2 late race cautions allowed her to (1) get back on the lead lap and (2) pit and take tires with no loss of position. Danica's average finish this year is 20.9...

Danica isn't good enough to carry Sam's jock - and I'm NOT trying to say that Sam is the greatest driver in NASCAR...

BFD! He's crashed his share of cars, whether it was his fault or not. He's not Danica and he's not a hugely popular driver, so NASCAR doesn't really care what happened. It adds some spice to the 'show' and that's what NASCAR is desperately looking for. Add that to the fact he was perceived by some as picking on 'our girl' and there you have it: No action by NASCAR.

He may have crashed a number of cars in the past, but currently he's one of the leaders in the Nationwide series. I repeat, his average finish is 11.6 in the Nationwide Series, so how can you claim, "The NASCAR Officials were probably surprised that both Hornish Jr and Danica were still running and going to finish the race, which is rare for the both of them, that they let it go"?

Popularity should have no bearing on the situation.

I don't think many people in racing are worried about Danica getting picked on. It's well known that she is getting preferential treatment, and most race fans are opposed to it.

And as Sirrotica so eloquently pointed out, NASCAR is going to counsel the little princess.

If Sam is so great why isn't he still in open wheel cars?

Um, yeah this is NASCAR where popularity matters most.

Which is exactly what I said

Good grief man. It's just racing. I turn the tv off and go back to my life when it's over.

Yet here you are, 3 days after the race, still trying to make excuses for Danica.

Do you dream about her at night?

No, I don't.

There is nothing about her that I find appealing. I'm on the same page as Brad - she's nothing but a high maintenance female dog.

She wants everyone to respect her for her racing ability and gets upset when some people consider her a sex object. If she doesn't want to be looked at that way, why does she promote herself as one?

She doesn't HAVE to do racy godaddy commercials.
