Default 1971 LeMans 350ci 2bbl 250HP $250(only a buck per horsepower!)

I bought this engine to put in my truck, then had to sell the truck. It's a '71 Pontiac 350 with a 2 barrel carb and the 94 heads. It was factory rated at 250 horsepower. The guy i bought it from said it ran, he even had a video of the engine running. I paid $350. When I got it I saw the rear main seal was leaking and the whole engine was pretty greasy. I have a whole Fel-pro gasket set with a couple rear main seal set so I decided to tear it down, inspect it, and replace the rear main. When I tore it down everything measured within spec but the rod bearings were kinda worn and it had a cracked cam bearing. I bought rod bearings but never got around to getting the cam bearings installed(about $60 total)so the engine is still disassembled. I kept the pistons, lifters, and pushrods in order and bagged and tagged the hardware. This engine is complete minus the power steering pump and aircleaner. It has the carb, manifolds, two alternators, pulleys etc. I'll also throw in my Pontiac HEI(I got the engine with no dist). It's been disassembled for about a month inside heavy duty trashbags and well soaked in WD-40. To get it running it should be a simple matter of cleaning the parts, getting cam bearings installed, and reassembling the engine. It comes with new Federal Mogul rod bearings and a complete gasket set, minus valve cover gaskets. I'll take $250, even though it cost me over $400). I have to drive 1200 miles to Iowa in the next week, and I'd rather not haul another 500lbs in my truck. The engine can be picked up in Bountiful Utah(a few miles above Salt Lkae City) or i can deliver it within 10 miles for $10. Thanks, Jim.

Sometimes I think about how much more money I'd have if my car got better mileage, but when I hammer the gas and I smell that tire smoke........I remember that I also spend a lot of money on tires.
