Almost forgot I had this one.....couldn't see it for all the sh*t I had piled on it!

First time out in the daylight for 7 years.

Started right up like it had been parked for 2 months & ran like a CHAMP! (try THAT one with a WOMAN)

Took it out for a run on Saturday.......455 HO with an M22.......what more do you need to say?

From what I can see of the thermal vacuum switch on the intake, it's a '71.

EDIT: studied that engine pic again and it's definitely a '71 - it's got the "east-west" mounted choke thermostat on the intake heat exhaust crossover.

Note to 2many: "you need to get out more", LOL.

Tis a 71 and mostly original,notable exceptions being a 744 cam upgrade,vintage Flowmaster transverse exhaust,Radial T/A's & a set of vintage Ricky Ricardo seats.(AND 72 deluxe door panels....)

I've added the Honeycombs & rear bumper guards....but have original KR's stashed.

The original seats are in the trim shop getting repaired (as we speak) but I COULD really use a BETTER drivers door panel (71 blue deluxe),if anybody knows of one?

I've heard mixed reviews on the repop door panels & would prefer to stay with ORIGINAL for color match reasons,etc.

Can't WAIT to get my allowance tomorrow morning & I figure I'm going to spend MOST of it on GAS!

2many is correct . . .

15x7, 14" center Rally IIs were standard fare on the 1971 Trans Am - a few very ealry cars had the "KN" coded wheels, while most were shod with KRs.

15x7 Honeycombs were optional.

All 1971 15" Honeys were equipped with the plain center caps and NO TRIM RINGS!

Can you guys tell me what the letter codes for wheels that were 15" rally II's and did Not take a trim ring. And, we're they '70 only? I know the profile of the wheel where the acual rim meets the center section is different on these wheels.

The 15x7 Rally II Wheels that were produced without trim rings from '70 thru '72 were stamped with JW, KN, and KR codes. The '70 and '71's came without trim rings and the '72 KR's came standard with trim rings. Trims Ring were optional '70 and '71, but most cars were delivered without them.

One mystery solved. I found my 71 HO AC aft top mounting bracket.
