Track results have shown a major improvement in head gasket life with the Tiger special alloy insert. In one case, the racer was getting minimal head gasket life, less than 15 passes under NOS use. The racer had 12 passes after the insert was installed, pulled the head after needing to reseat a valve, the head gasket looked great and reused the gasket, 20+ additional runs and the gasket still looks great. That's twice the head gasket life and can be reused.
Glenn Sedig ran all season on the same head gaskets with well over 50+ runs and the leak down is better between the center exhaust ports versus the outside cylinders. All other users have no reports of head gasket failure to date. We will be incorporating this modification in other Pontiac cylinder heads starting with the Edelbrock Performer as of next week. Thanks to Glenn and Calvin,
I have 36 runs since Glenn did the insert in my Tigers. I just did a leak down and the results show no difference in leak down between the center cylinders and the end ones. 16-1 compression, 3620 lbs, 5 speed. I"m a happy camper. |
