Anybody succesfully re-color their package tray? My original black is showing hints of the brown hardboard showing through. Plan to remove it from car but wondering
How do you clean years of ArmorAll off without water blistering the hardboard or some chemical eating it away?
Does SEM interior dye hold up to the immense heat the sun builds up back there?
Can you get it to spray on without streaks or lines. Just even color?
Do I need an adhesion promoter before painting?
Do you clearcoat it in satin afterward?

For the small amount to replace it why would you even consider trying to repair it or color it. Just replace it.

x 2 on replacing it. I bought the deluxe model from REM. Under $40 and looks great. The deluxe is a different design than the original. It has 6x9 speaker cutouts already in the board and it covered with vinyl screen for protection. You can get it in any factory color for F bodies

I just re-dyed my sun visors black and used the new Rustoleum vinyl fabric dye. It turned out great so if you're needing a black dye job you may wish to try that for about $6 at Menards.

The reason for recoloring what I have is because I have a numbers matching all original 30,000 mile car. It would ruin the originality and take points away from my Survivor Gold status rating if I put in an aftermarket one. So replacement is not an option Strictly looking for redying it the right way.

In regard to the Rustoleum dye I read someone else had wear issues. It flaked and rubbed off after some time. That is why I was focused on SEM brand. haven't read about any issues like that with SEM.
